Cone Rolling

mexerv-anodizing-process

Cone rolling and Cylinder rolling are based on the simple principle of 3-point bending. The work piece is fed into the work roll of a roll bending machine and a roller is place on the work piece. Usually, there is a single roller above the work piece and two rollers below. Cone rolling can be done with a single piece of steel or with multiple segments. So, we could fabricate a cone by simply joining two 180 degree cone segments. Alternatively, a longer cone could be produced by joining two cones lengthwise. Steel cones could also be formed with 4-piece construction also. Thus, the same product can be obtained with a range of options.

The important dimensions that are needed to fabricate a cone are the minor and major diameter, the height of the cone and the required thickness of the material.

If cracks appear during the process, then it must be noted that the rolling time needs to be extended. The binding direction must be noted during cutting and the welding seam must be polished.
